  • Are there toilets in the building?

    There is only one multi-purpose toilet installed in our hotel.

    If you are in a group, please use the restrooms at Minamisanriku Sansan Shopping Street or JR Shizugawa Station.
    Both are located about 1 minute walk from our hotel.

  • How much is the admission fee?

    Admission from the exhibition gallery to the art zone is 200 yen for adults and university students, 100 yen for elementary, middle and high school students, and the learning program is 800 yen for adults and university students, 700 yen for middle and high school students, and 400 yen for elementary school students.
    Entrance/Minna no Hiroba/2nd floor observation deck is free.

  • What are the opening hours and closed days?

    The opening hours are from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. The museum is closed on Tuesdays and during the year-end and New Year holidays (December 29th to January 3rd). For details, please check here.

  • Do I need an appointment?

    It is possible to enter without a reservation, but the pay zone has a capacity for each session and may be full, so please make a reservation and payment for the specified date and time in advance according to the time schedule of the program to be screened at the Learning Theater. We recommend that you visit us. For details, please check here.

  • When do you accept reservations?

    We accept reservations from two months before the desired date. Please note that reservations are available on a monthly basis.

  • Can I change the details of my reservation?

    To change the date and time of your reservation, please apply again from the reservation page after canceling the current reservation.

  • How long does the tour take?

    It will take approximately 30 to 60 minutes to tour the entire building, including the learning program.
    (About 30 minutes for short program/about 60 minutes for regular program)

    The screening time for the learning program is approximately 15 minutes for the short program and approximately 45 minutes for the regular program.
    Including tours of other areas, the tour will take approximately 30 to 60 minutes.

    Additionally, the learning program is limited to 50 people per session, so if your group has more than 50 people, the screening will be divided into multiple sessions. Please contact us for more information.

  • Can I take photos inside the building?

    You can only take pictures in the free areas (Entrance/Minna no Hiroba/2nd floor observation deck) inside the museum. Photography and recording are prohibited in paid areas (exhibition gallery/art zone/learning theater).
    However, this does not apply if there is a display indicating that the QR code can be read.

  • Is there a foreign language display such as English?

    Some of the exhibition banners, testimonial videos, and learning programs in the museum are available in English and traditional Chinese versions.

    Exhibition banners and video materials can be viewed by connecting to the museum's free Wi-Fi and scanning the QR code of each material with your smartphone or tablet.

    Regarding the learning program, please let the reception staff know if you would like to take the course in English/Traditional Chinese version.

  • Is Minamisanriku Sansan shopping district nearby?

    Minamisanriku Sansan Shopping Street is adjacent to our hotel. It is within a 3 minute walk from both places.
    The shopping street area and memorial area are combined to form “Roadside Station Sansan Minamisanriku''.

    If you would like to purchase souvenirs or have a meal, please use Minamisanriku-san Shopping Street.

  • Is there a parking lot for large buses?

    There is free parking available on site. (Advance reservations are not possible, the parking lot is shared by the roadside station)
