From the Tokyo Metro area, take the Metropolitan Expressway Kawaguchi Junction to the Tohoku Expressway Sendai Minami IC (about 4 hours and 30 minutes).

From the Shinjuku Expressway Bus Terminal, take the Sendai-bound bus (about 6 hours).

By Rail
From Sendai Station, take JR lines to Yanaizu Station, transfer to the BRT, and get off at Shizugawa Station (about 2 hours and 30 minutes).

By Car (using toll roads)
From the Sendai-Minami IC on the Tohoku Expressway, take the Sendai-Nanbu Road/Sanriku Expressway through the Naruse-Oku-Matsushima IC, and then take the Sanriku Expressway to the Shizugawa IC (about 1 hour and 30 minutes).

By Bus
From the Miyako Sendai Highway Bus Center near the West Exit of Sendai Station, board the bus at boarding area #40 and get off at the Shizugawa BRT Station (about 1 hour and 40 minutes).
