The Minamisanriku 311 Memorial will be holding a special exhibition called "Minamisanriku Everyone's Kiriko Project" from Wednesday, July 9th.

Starting Wednesday, August 27th, the exhibits will be replaced and the second half of the exhibition will begin.
In the second half of this exhibition, some works have been newly added or changed, allowing you to enjoy a more diverse world of Kiriko.

■ What is Minamisanriku Minna no Kiriko Project?
This project was started in the summer of 2010 by the then Minamisanriku Town Industrial Promotion Division and the volunteer group "ENVISI" as an initiative to revitalize tourism in the town from a women's perspective.
Since then, it has continued uninterrupted even after the Great East Japan Earthquake, and has been supported by many people as a cultural activity rooted in the local community.

This year, the exhibition has been expanded to the whole town so that more people can enjoy the works. Through "Kiriko," local people and visitors can get a feel for the current state of Minamisanriku.

"Kiriko Walk" is a walk in search of the "Kiriko" trees scattered around the town of Minamisanriku.
Why not grab a map and take a little trip down memory lane in the town?

We look forward to seeing you and your visit.
