At that time, an earthquake occurred off the coast of Chile in South America, causing a tsunami that reached the Sanriku coast, with many casualties in the Shizugawa district of Minamisanriku Town.
This experience became the basis for Minamisanriku Town's disaster prevention plan before the Great East Japan Earthquake. This project aims to learn and think about how to prepare for life-saving measures based on the lessons learned from natural disasters that occur repeatedly and bring unexpected damage.
We look forward to seeing you there.
