The Minamisanriku 311 Memorial will be holding a special photo exhibition, "In a Town of Nostalgic Memories," featuring photos taken before and after the earthquake disaster.

Do you remember what the streetscape was like here before the earthquake?
Minamisanriku has had streets and people's lives for a long time. We will hold this event with nostalgic memories to pass on to future generations.
The exhibition will feature a large number of photographs submitted by Tokyo-based photographer Asakawa Satoshi, who has been visiting Minamisanriku for 10 years since immediately after the earthquake and tsunami, tracking the changes in the town, as well as photographs sent in by local residents, looking back on some of the changes Minamisanriku has undergone.

Photographer. Organizer of ZOOM and member of the Japan Architectural Photographers Association.
Born in Shinjuku, Tokyo in 1959. Graduated from Tokyo Polytechnic University in 1980.
1999-2004 Part-time lecturer at Kuwasawa Design School.
This time, we will also be holding a "Conversation Gathering" event, an opportunity for interaction between photographer Satoshi Asakawa and local residents.
