The Minamisanriku 311 Memorial, which opened in October 2022, features exhibits that encourage visitors to think about "How would you think and act if you were in that situation?" through display banners summarizing the damage caused by the Great East Japan Earthquake and learning program experiences based on interviews with affected townspeople.

The "Disaster Prevention Quiz Rally" being held this time is an event where you can learn about disaster prevention while having fun by walking around the town around the Minamisanriku 311 Memorial!

The site can be used to learn about the Great East Japan Earthquake, with questions such as the height of the tsunami that struck Minamisanriku at the time of the disaster, the town's current designated evacuation shelters, and the many pieces of support that have been received from all over Japan and overseas. The site also contains content that can be used to learn about preparing for future natural disasters.

Those who answer all questions correctly will receive limited edition original goods! Please join us for this summer vacation independent study and opportunity to think about disaster prevention with your children!

We look forward to your participation!
