<Finished> [Special Screening] Minamisanriku Documentary Film Screening Announcement

This screening has reached capacity on both days and registration is now closed.

The Minamisanriku 311 Memorial will be holding a screening of a documentary film filmed in Minamisanriku Town on Monday, June 24th and Tuesday, June 25th.

The two films being screened this time are "TSUNAMI LADIES" and "Forget Me Not."

This work is a documentary that captures the women who rose to their feet after experiencing natural disasters, such as the Great East Japan Earthquake and the Chilean earthquake.


<Date and Time>

[1st screening] Monday, June 24th, doors open at 18:30, screening at 19:00, scheduled to end at 20:30

[2nd screening] June 25th (Tue) Doors open at 14:00 / Screening at 14:30 / Ending at 15:30

<Venue> Minamisanriku 311 Memorial Learning Theater

<Fee> Free

Capacity: 30 people per session

<Other> On the 24th, there will be a talk event with the producer who shot the film and the women who appear in the film.


Work 1: "TSUNAMI LADIES"

Three women who experienced the 2010 Chilean earthquake visit Japan and meet three women from Minamisanriku.

The story depicts people sharing their experiences of disaster and recovery through food, including exchanging recipes from each country and cooking together.

Artwork 2: "Forget Me Not"

After Sakiko Miura found a floating ball that had been swept away by the tsunami, she decided to rebuild her store.

A story of an exchange across the ocean with the Baxters, who discovered a floating ball in Alaska.
