Thirteen years have passed since the Great East Japan Earthquake that occurred on March 11, 2011.
We would like to express our deepest condolences to those who lost their lives in the Great East Japan Earthquake and our heartfelt sympathies to all those affected by the disaster.
We would also like to express our deepest condolences to those who lost their lives in the Noto Peninsula Earthquake that occurred on January 1st of this year, and our heartfelt sympathies to all those affected by the disaster. We sincerely pray for the speedy recovery and reconstruction of the affected areas.
The Minamisanriku 311 Memorial will continue to convey the facts, experiences, and lessons learned from Minamisanriku Town, which experienced the earthquake and tsunami, and will continue to provide an opportunity to think about how to make decisions and act if I were faced with a natural disaster, and to think about life and what to value in each day.
