In this area, there is a custom of decorating the Shinto altar with auspicious paper cutouts called "kiriko," made by the priests of the local shrine.
Taking inspiration from this style, the Minamisanriku Minna no Kiriko Project was started to unearth and share local resources by visualizing the people, events, and things hidden in the town through paper cutting.
This initiative, which began before the earthquake, was taken over by the volunteer group ENVISI after the disaster and continues to this day.
Various kiriko works created as part of the Minamisanriku Minna no Kiriko Project will be on display for a limited time.
Many of the kiriko on display this time were designed by the voluntary organization ENVISI, which was then cut by volunteers from Toyota Motor East Japan, Inc.
Thank you very much for your cooperation.
